Unlike traditional grills which cook food from a single, direct heat source, the cylindrical shape of the Pit Barrel® (PBC) and “Hook-and-Hang” method places the food in the center of the action, heating the meat from all sides at once and producing consistently great-tasting, perfectly cooked food every time.
This is the most efficient long-duration pit we have tried at SilverFire. Our other stoves are more efficient for high firepower cooking (boiling, frying, woking, etc...). Our Dragon oven is more efficient at baking and we can add smoked flavor in our Dragon oven, but long duration (low & slow) was a limitation for smoking ribs, brisket, etc... This is the void the Pit Barrel Cooker fills. Hanging meat outperforms kamados, pellet grills, and most other pits since the heat is reflected 360 degrees and is not limited to the requirement of laying on a grate when hung.
SilverFire sells all PBC with several must-have options not available with standard orders. We include the stainless ash pan for ease of cleanout, pit grip gloves, a cover, and the custom charcoal starter for ease of loading the PBC and safe handling of briquettes. We think these are important PBC accessories that should come standard with every order.
